I am so excited to start my sixth year at Sierra Elementary . I love teaching, it is my passion! I come from a long line of teachers in my family, so I knew at a very young age that teaching was going to be my future. I got my Bachelors of Arts degree in Child Development at Sacramento State and then continued on to receive my teaching credential in Early Childhood Education.
I met my husband while in college and moved to his hometown after graduating to start my teaching career. There I taught 6th Grade for 5 years and loved that age group tremendously! When my husband and I decided to start our family, I knew I wanted to stay home and raise my children for as long as I could. So for the next 3 years, I stayed home and raised my two little babies: went to library time, had park play dates, discovered museums, and did all kinds of activities like gymnastics, ballet, soccer, and swim lessons! I loved every minute of it!
I have been married to my husband, Brent, for 10 years. Our daughter Alyson (8) is going into Third Grade this year at Sierra and she couldn't be more excited! Our son Colin (6) is in First Grade here at Sierra this year also! He is all things boy! He loves to climb everything, dig in the mud and fix stuff with his tools.
This summer my family and I went on a few vacations this summer; we camped in Santa Cruz and visited the Beach Boardwalk and went to Tahoe and saw Luke Bryan in concert. We also swam a lot in our backyard, rode bikes and scooters with our neighbors and we love to play games of any kind!
